About Us
Our Mission
To provide a place where senior citizens, as individuals or in groups, come together for services and activities which enhance their dignity, support independence and encourage their involvement in and with the community.
Our History
The Senior Citizens of Logan County, Inc., (doing business as the "Oasis Senior Center”), officially opened its doors in April 1984 to serve the needs of the growing senior population of Logan County, located in Central Illinois.
Since the Senior Center’s inception, it has been located in Lincoln, Illinois, which is the county seat for Logan County. An old bank building served as home for the organization until June of 2013, when a lightning strike caused a fire, destroying the building. The Center opened a new facility, located on the west side of Lincoln (2810 Woodlawn Road), in July 2014 to continue its services to the seniors of Logan County.
The average age of members is 72 years, but there is no age requirement to join. Currently, our youngest member is 11 and oldest is 102!
